Constellation of Maritime surveillence satellite

 Why is it in the News ?

Recently the constellation of Maritime surveillance satellite for  the Indian ocean region is to be jointly launched by India and France . 

How does help in maritime surveillence ?

  1. This satellite will be able to trace illegal spillage of oil by ships.
  2.  The  monitoring center will be based in India and will be operated jointly by France and India to monitor ships in the India Ocean .
  3. The system will also cover a wide belt around the globe benefiting a broad range of France economics interests.
  4. The part of the satellite will be built in both the countries and launched by India . 
  5. Thermal Infrared Imaging Satellite for High- Resolution Natural Resource Assessment (TRISHMA) is highly precise thermal infrared observe will also be part of the fleet of Indo -France satellites .                       

First space based system 

  1.    1.   In 2019 , CNES a nd ISRO committed  to developing and building a constellation  of satellites carrying telecommunication and radar and optical remote - sensing instrument.
  The agreement between India and France calle for constituting the first space-based system in the world capable of tracking ships continuously.

ABOUT TRISHMA 

  1. It will be latest satellite in the joint Franco-Indian satellite field. 
  2. It si dedicated  to climate monitoring and operational applications .
  3. TRISHMA observation will enhance the understanding of the water cycle improve management of the plants precious water resources,
